Hi, I'm Gilly
Founder of Mama Wellbeing Co. I'm so glad you're here.
If you're wondering what led me to this work, or you'd like to know a little more about me, my experience and the heart behind Mama Wellbeing Co, you've come to the right place.
I'm a self-confessed birth geek! I genuinely love learning about all things pregnancy, birth, babies and postpartum, and I feel incredibly privileged that this passion has become my work.
Becoming a mother myself has only deepened that passion and strengthened my belief that every woman deserves compassionate, evidence-based support throughout pregnancy, birth and the transition into parenthood.
Learning has always been important to me, and I continue to invest in regular professional development so I can offer the women and families I support the most up-to-date, evidence-based information alongside nurturing, holistic care.
My Story
After qualifying as a nurse, I spent many years supporting women, babies and families within the NHS. My career began working within Health Visiting and School Nursing while completing my postgraduate studies in Public Health. I then went on to qualify as a Health Visitor before taking on a specialist role as a Family Nurse, supporting young mothers through pregnancy and the early years of parenthood.
Alongside my clinical work, I had the privilege of teaching other healthcare professionals, delivering UNICEF Baby Friendly breastfeeding training for Health Visitors and Motivational Interviewing training for nurses, midwives and other members of the NHS workforce.
These experiences allowed me to walk alongside hundreds of families during one of the most transformative times in their lives. They also showed me something that stayed with me: while clinical care is incredibly important, many women were longing for more continuity, more time, more connection and more personalised support throughout pregnancy and beyond.
Becoming a mother myself gave me an even deeper appreciation of just how life-changing this journey can be. It reinforced everything I believed professionally, while also allowing me to experience first-hand the joy, vulnerability, strength and transformation that motherhood brings.
That is how Mama Wellbeing Co was born. I wanted to create a place where women and families feel truly welcomed, listened to and cared for. A place where evidence-based education sits alongside compassion, where questions are always encouraged, and where women can build confidence in themselves and trust in their own instincts.
My hope is that every family who walks through my doors leaves feeling calmer, more informed and more connected to themselves, their baby and the journey ahead.
My Philosophy
Pregnancy, birth and the transition into parenthood can be one of the most exciting times in life, but they can also feel overwhelming. Navigating today's maternity system while balancing everyday life isn't always easy.
At Mama Wellbeing Co, you'll find a nurturing, non-judgemental space where you are listened to, respected and supported.
My approach combines evidence-based education with respect for women's intuition, informed choice and holistic wellbeing. I believe these things belong together.
I want women to feel strong, capable, confident and deeply connected to both their body and their baby. I believe every woman is the expert on herself. Women already hold incredible wisdom and instinct. My role is to provide information, encouragement and practical tools that nurture self-trust and support confident decision-making.
Whether you're joining me for pregnancy yoga, hypnobirthing, birth preparation, or postnatal support, my aim is always the same, to help you feel calm, informed, empowered and held throughout this extraordinary chapter of life.
